Ralink Technology (TAIEX: 3534) Monthly Sales Report – December, 2009

Issued by: Ralink Technology
Issued on: 2010/01/08

Hsinchu, Taiwan, January 8, 2010 – Ralink Technology Corp. (TAIEX: 3534) today announced that the total revenue for December 2009 reached NT$ 502.2 million, down 9.8% MoM and up 92.9% YoY. Revenue for the fourth quarter in 2009 totaled NT$ 1,609.6 million, up 9.9% QoQ and up 72.2% from the same period of last year.

The company stated that due to the peak season effect of the networking industry and global economic recovery, orders in December were driven by the climbing retail market, especially in Europe. Geographically, the Chinese market has become one of the most important regions, accounting for around 30% of the company’s total unit shipments.

With a change of the product portfolio and the company’s tight cost control, the gross margin in the fourth quarter has been improving month over month, and is better than the company expected.
