Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 7, 2010 – Ralink Technology Corp. (TAIEX: 3534) today announced that the total revenue for April 2010 reached NT$ 606.5 million, up 4.4% MoM and up 72.0% YoY. Aggregated revenue from January to April of 2010 was NT$ 2,283.8 million, up 90.9% from the same period of last year.

 

Given a strong demand across all main product lines, the company stated that the unit shipment growth in the second quarter is expected to increase sequentially. Inventory level is relatively low due to capacity constraints on the foundry side which however, also help to decelerate the ASP decline in the meantime.

 

The company just reported that the gross margin of the first quarter was 43.3% and expected that the gross margin in the second quarter to maintain steady to slightly up due to the change of the product portfolio and new product launch.

 

Ralink Technology is scheduled to demonstrate a range of new wireless technologies at the 2010 Computex Taipei from June 1st to June 4th, including multiple 1080p60 HD video streams over Wi-Fi, Wireless DLNA Blu-Ray DVD and HDTV Media adaptor, Bluetooth 3.0 for mobile PCs and “Wi-Fi direct” for P2P consumer electronics applications.
